We fished sumset at Lake Royal and got another small bass.

I will be looking for one of your smallies to post.

My thoughts on Spring Smallies in clear water:

- 4" Lizard (NC forage specific --match the color of the bottom)
- 3 1/2" Tube (Either white for baitfish look or match bottom)
- If crankbaits fail try a curly tail grub in natural color or a small white spinnet bait (looks like baitfish school)
- Drop shot a gulp minnow pattern

If the water stains use bigger lures in either dark black or neon colors and go for rattles and other noise makers.

Not much better in life than a spring smallmouth bass!
